This project evaluates the efficacy of a "caffeine-nap" as a countermeasure to driver sleepiness for obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) patients.

A comparison of Virtual Reality and non-Virtual Reality approaches to hazard perception training and testing: Does a 360 environment provide tangible benefits?
The project developed hazard tests and training materials presented in VR headsets and on single screens.
University of Kent
Using cognitive responses to assess and improve vehicle brake light designs
The aim of the project was to evaluate the effectiveness of existing vehicle brake light designs and identify factors that promote faster perception of the braking event such as size, shape, orientation, brightness and modulation.
Nottingham Trent University
Assessing the potential of driver awareness and emotional regulation training in improving road safety
Funding was awarded to Nottingham Trent University to research and develop a novel training intervention designed to improve driver safety.
PACTS (Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety)
Reducing suicides on the UK roads, providing a baseline
A project by PACTS that raised awareness of roads related suicide and sought influence through changes to recording, reporting and management.
Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust
Targeting road injury prevention
Funding of £100,000 was awarded to Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust to work with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Road Safety Partnership, in order to look in detail at crashes that cause severe injury and death, in particular examining the types of drivers that are involved in these crashes.
Transport Research Laboratory
Development and pilot of a business travel focused intervention addressing close following driving behaviour
The project completed and produced the required deliverables of a report and a literature review, which contribute to knowledge about ‘close following’.
