The Road Safety Trust publishes new strategy to help achieve zero deaths and serious injuries on UK roads
The Road Safety Trust has today published its new organisational strategy for 2025–2028, setting out its plan to deliver on its ongoing vision of zero deaths and zero serious injuries on UK roads.
As the UK’s largest independent grant funder of road safety initiatives, the Trust will continue to fund high-impact projects, invest in research and strengthen the evidence base for what works to reduce harm.
However, the strategy also confirms a growing focus on collaboration, influencing and knowledge sharing, with an ambition to support a safer, fairer, and more resilient road system.
The new strategy sets four clear priorities for the next three years:
Govern well and build an agile, sustainable organisation
Fund high-impact projects
Strengthen the evidence base
Influence policy, practice and legislation
Chief Executive Ruth Purdie said: “Our ambition is to make a measurable difference to the safety of the UK’s roads and streets – not just by enabling high-quality research and innovation, but also by making the insights from our funding more visible and more impactful, leading to lasting change.
“This strategy will guide us in achieving this and I’m grateful to all the partners, grantees and stakeholders who have helped shape our direction.
“I look forward to building further on these positive relationships over the coming years to help deliver on our vision of zero deaths and zero serious injuries on UK roads.”
