Transformational post-collision research project recognised with road safety award
A project funded by The Road Safety Trust has won a prestigious industry award.
IMPACT – the centre for post-collision research, innovation and translation, led by Prof Tim Nutbeam and his colleagues at Devon Air Ambulance, was the winner of the CIHT (Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation) Road Safety Award, which recognises ‘outstanding achievements that improve road users’ safety through excellent practice, design and technical application’.
IMPACT champions the value of early triage at the scene of road traffic collisions and aims to enable key interventions that will improve the survival and recovery chances of crash victims.
Prof Nutbeam was joined on stage by the Road Safety Trust’s Grants and Impact Director Louise Palomino and colleagues from Vision Zero South West to receive the award, which was one of 16 presented during the evening.
The ceremony was held last night (Wednesday 4 June) at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, hosted by former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin.
We’re thrilled that IMPACT has been recognised in this way and would like to congratulate Tim and everyone involved in this vital, lifesaving work.
