Carl Boardman appointed as Head of Finance

The Road Safety Trust is thrilled to announce that Mr Carl Boardman has been appointed as the charity’s Head of Finance and as UKROEd’s Chief Finance Officer.

Carl’s appointment is the result of a rigorous recruitment process, and he will commence his new role from 1 December 2025. Carl will replace Mr Hugh Sutherland, who leaves both organisations on retirement after 10 years of service with our very best wishes for the future.

Ruth Purdie OBE, Chief Executive of The Road Safety Trust and UKROEd, said: “Carl has shown himself to be an outstanding member of both The Road Safety Trust and UKROEd teams in his relatively short time with us.

“He has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to both organisations and will doubtless keep us on a sound financial footing. I wish him every success in his new role.”

Carl has worked as Finance Controller for both organisations for the past 18 months, and prior to this gained extensive experience in both the public and private sector as an Auditor, Financial Controller, Finance Director and Group Finance Director.

He lives in the Greater Manchester area and is married with two children.
