Trustee & Chair of Road Safety Initiatives Committee

Kate has over 30 years’ experience in Road Safety. She had a major role in the Department of Transport in the development of the GB Casualty Reduction Targets and Strategy for 2010. Her final post in DfT was Head of Road Safety Strategy Division. She was awarded the OBE and the RoSPA Distinguished Service Award.

In recent years, Kate has provided advice and consultancy to the World Health Organisation, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the FIA Foundation for the Automobile and Society, the SOL EU Partnership project, and the World Bank, including road safety management reviews and advice on strategy development in Poland and Morocco.

Most recently, Kate was joint author of the Road Safety Management Capacity Review commissioned by DfT. She is a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety, and a Trustee of the Road Safety Trust and the Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (EASST).
